John + Jordan’s Surprise Proposal - Sunset Cliffs, San Diego

John contacted me from his home in Delaware asking if I would help plan and photograph his surprise proposal to his partner, Jordan, when they’d be in San Diego on vacation. John knew exactly what he wanted (sunsets and “LOTS of roses”) and we spent weeks meticulously planning out location, details, and logistics from a country away. Obviously I was pretty nervous that any number of things would go wrong — it was supposed to rain, for one thing, and when I arrived to the location my phone lost service and we weren’t able to communicate easily. But when the big moment arrived, it couldn’t have gone more perfectly. Between the beautiful clouds and diffused light, the applause from onlookers making the whole moment more magical, and the fact that John and Jordan were THE sweetest couple, the whole thing went off without a hitch. John’s vision was so romantic and it was awesome to see it all come to life! Congratulations to this sweet couple!
